With over 30 years of experience in the legal profession, Tony is a trusted advisor to various professional associations and individuals. Native to Calgary, he attended the University of Calgary where he received both his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor. Tony was a Bencher with the Law Society for 9 years and in 2017, served as President of the Law Society of Alberta. During this time, he also attended Osgoode Hall Law School where he obtained his Master of Laws (Family Law) in 2010. Among his colleagues, Tony is well known for competently handling complex personal, family and business disputes.
Tony’s thought leadership is evident in government and many publications. As Co-Convener of the Reforming Family Justice System Initiative from 2015 to 2019, his work helped inspire the new family court. Between 2011 and 2015, Tony was Chair of the Board of Directors of the Alberta Law Foundation. There, he lead and supported efforts to build a better justice community in Alberta . In his capacity as President of the University of Calgary Incubator Tony has pioneered new methods of practice within the profession.
Tony believes that the future of law needs to meet the expectations of the digital age. He is passionate about leveraging the latest technologies to enable a paperless firm, increase accessibility and individualize experience to deliver better value. Tony consistently drives timely results while taking a thoughtful approach, focused on finding the right answer.
Outside of law, some of Tony’s biggest passions in life are playing music with “the band”, cooking and spending time with his family.
